Learn How To Find Cheap Airline Tickets

Monday, April 12th, 2010

Finding a cheap airlines ticket is a matter of two things: planning and flexibility. Combining those two elements can save you a lot of money.

You can save a lot of money by being flexible. Instead of going to a place in the high season, you can often wait a few months for the low season and get tickets for a much lower price. This way you can also save money on food, accommodation, sightseeing etc.

In is also not unimportant which day of the week you travel. If you are going to a typical business destination (like Brussels), where all business people goes to on the weekdays, it is cheaper to travel in the weekend. And if you are visiting a holiday destination, you can save a lot of money by traveling there on a weekday.

There are places that are expensive to fly to; whatever day or month you choose. If you are planning to go to one of those places, you can ask yourself, if you can find a cheaper location with the same of attractions instead.

Sometime you can find last minute offers on airline tickets. But in most cases it is best to plan ahead. An investigation has shown that the best time to book your ticket is four weeks ahead. This gives to lowest price with the highest flexibility.

When it comes to actually finding the cheap airline tickets, the Internet is your best friend. Use one the many air ticket search engines using the preferred location and dates. Then try to vary the dates a little (e.g. from a weekday to the weekend) to see if the price changes significant.

After you have found the perfect sets of location and dates, you can try to do the same search in another airline ticket search engine. You can also try to look directly on the airline website. Both methods can give you even cheaper prices.

So remember when looking for cheap airline tickets to be flexible. Go on the best day and try to travel in the low season instead of the high season. And stay away from the most expensive locations.

And remember to do some planning beforehand using your favorite airline ticket search engines.

The Highlights of Prague

Monday, April 12th, 2010

Today Prague is one of the most fascinating places for vacation in Europe. Great sights and low prices make it a very popular destination. In Prague you can find cheap gourmet food and hotels; and probably the largest beers in Europe.

The first historical building in Prague was the castle Prazsky Hrad. It was built in the 9th century. The castle sits on a hill high above the Vltava River.

Behind the castle wall are a palace, three churches and a monastery located. Around the year 1320 the city Hradcany was founded in one part of the castle’s outer courtyard.

Since 1918 the castle has been the seat of the country’s president. There is changing of the Guard in front of the castle every hour; and at noon it includes a fanfare.

Stare Mesto is the old part of Prague. Centrally located in the town is the square Staromestske namesti (Old Town Square) located. The square is surrounded by historical buildings that can be compared with any other European city.

The first settlements started in the 10th century around the castle. From here it spread to the other side of the Vltava River. The main building point was around the square in the old town.

In 1338 the city hall was build (it is now being called the Old Town Hall). Today it is known for its astronomical clock from 1490. Every hour a large crowds flock to see the show, where an odd group of apostles, the Death, a rooster, a turkey, the Vanity and the Greed performs their own little show.

The 520 meter long Charles Bridge was built in 1357. And until 1741 it was the only way to cross the Vltava River. It is built of sandstone blocks; and it is said to have been reinforced with an odd combination of mortar and eggs.

The original decoration was just a simple cross. In 1683 the first of many statues was set up. Today all the statues give the bridge its characteristic look.

Today the bridge is a tourist magnet, which for the same reason also attracts a large group of artists and merchants, who is offering their wares to tourists.

Prague is not as cheap as it used to be, but it is nevertheless still possible to make some really good shopping. And if you think it is only wares from the former East Europe, you are wrong.

Since the Velvet Revolution in 1989 a lot has happened in Prague; both in terms of foreign and Czech products. Today all major American and Western European brands are represented in Prague. And you can easily spend a full day shopping in department stores and specialty shops in downtown Prague.

A Truly Relaxing Way To Travel

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

Traveling with the family can be difficult, but it can be fun if you do some things to relieve some of the stress factors. The main thing that you can do to make things easier is to be organized and prepared. Have everything that you need together before hand and have everything within arms reach.

Tickets and passports and important documents should be easily accessible and easy to find. Keep them organized and together so that they are easy to find in lines and at checkpoints in the airport and at hotels and check-ins. Things are easier if they are kept together in one place, separate from the other luggage and kept on your person. A purse or computer bag is good. One person should be in charge of them, that way they are in constant possession of all of the important things. This makes check-ins and heck-out much easier and much more efficient.

Another thing that makes the trip easier, whether flying or driving somewhere is having some entertainment. There are tons of things to keep you busy during a long flight or a long drive. They don’t have to be gadgets and gizmos either; they can be travel games and card games and books. My kids have a little folder that holds paper and crayons or colored pencils that they can keep next to them or in the pocket in front of them. They can draw and color and write whenever they want and it is a creative way to keep themselves busy. These little notebooks can also hold a magazine or small book.

Some people get motion sickness when they read or draw while in a moving vehicle. There are motion sickness medicines for that or maybe there are some other alternatives. There are card games and mini-travel versions of most of the popular board games.

When I was younger, my brother and I had a tiny deck of playing cards that we always took with us on trips and we could play go-fish or gin rummy or any other card game together. It was hours of fun and we would usually be through with the trip before we knew it. There are other games that you can play without the need for anything else. You can count Volkswagen Beetles on the road, or look at the shapes of clouds and try and make out different shapes. There are plenty of fun things to keep everyone happy and busy.

You can find Cheap Flights at great discounts by logging by utilizingto expedia.com. When you travel for the holidays, getting a cheap flight can really make the entire visit much easier.
