Selling Playgrounds Can Help You Earn A Living

Thursday, July 22nd, 2010

Having children is a blessing and if you have kids you probably know that they love the playgrounds at the parks. However, you might realize that you can start selling playground equipment and profit if you know where to sell the items at. Here are some of the places that you can sell at while figuring out how to make a profit.

You could find that one way to start off with that could cost you some money would be marketing by mail. However, you might not gain back the money that you invest unless you are directing people to your store or some other place to purchase the product from you.

Many of the places around your town might need to have these items. A great place that might be willing to purchase these items could be the local park boards. Even though they might have to put these types of purchases out to bid you will find that you could be one of the lowest bids and win the job.

Many stores that people visit all the time could be a great place to visit to see if you can place your product there. If they are a national chain they might not, but if they are a locally owned store they could allow you to put the item there for a small portion of each sale.

If you know of any local gathering places that are in your town you could see if you can put up a poster of your available product lines. By doing this you might find that you are going to pick up customers that have children or grandchildren and they want your item for their kids to play on.

Using the paper can allow many people to see what you are offering service wise. By knowing what you are offering more people will be likely to contact you.

You are going to want to make sure that you price your items high enough so that you can get a profit off of each one. This could mean that if you are custom building it you might want to double the cost of lumber to your customers, but it could also mean if you use kits setting the price to be a little bit higher than what you are being charged.

If you are going to want to learn how to start making money selling playground equipment and profit you will want to make sure of several factors. Some of those factors could include having the prices set right, but also knowing where to sell the items.

TradeKing is a good place to be if you want to try trading as additional funding for your business. It’s risky though so try this at your own risk.

Buying Perfectly Fitting Jeans Online

Monday, May 17th, 2010

Have you ever thought of purchasing jeans online? Many people have not, because they are used to trying on the jeans and checking fit in the mirror. This is of course impossible when purchasing online. But, if you have a tape measure and take five important measurements, you can buy online and be confident that your jeans will fit.

Be careful not to pull the tape too tightly when taking measurements. You want it slightly loose, but not slack. Having a friend do the measurements for you can be very helpful. Here are the five critical measurements you’ll need to take:

1. Upper waist: Most of us don’t think in terms of upper and lower waist. It’s even more complicated when you realize that the upper waist, used to determine the jeans waist measurements, is not where your actual waistband will sit once the jeans are on. You need to measure at the smallest part of your waist, even though your waistband will likely hit lower. If you measure where the waistband will hit, the jeans may be baggy at the waist.

2. Lower waist: Wrap the tape around your waist just below the pointy part of your hip. If this is unclear, you’ll need to do some visualization. Picture where low-rise jeans would hit on you, and wear high-waisted jeans would hit. Now, take the measurement at the mid point between these two places.

3. Bottom width: This measurement is taken at the widest point of the hips. Generally, you’ll find that this number will be a few inches larger than will the lower waist measurement.

4. Thigh width: Take this measurement by wrapping the measuring tape around one thigh at the widest point.

5. Inseam length: This measurement is not taken on the body. Using a pair of jeans that fit you perfectly, measure the length of the inner leg from the crotch seam to the bottom of the cuff. You can lay the jeans flat to do this, as this can make it easier.

Once you have all of the measurements, you’re ready to go to the manufacturer’s or vendor’s website. When you look up the sizing chart, be sure to add an inch to each measurement listed on the jean site.

Sizing should be fairly easy to figure out. Different countries use different sizing schemes, but in general if you know the country of origin for the jeans, you can figure out which sizing they will be using. Jeans made in the United States will probably use US sizing, and so on.

Aside from shopping online, the writer also regularly blogs regarding recessed fluorescent lighting and square recessed lighting fixtures.
