What You Must Know About The Pilot Check Ride

Thursday, April 1st, 2010

You are going to come across all types of instructors during your course these will include the official instructors that will give you your test. You are certainly going to feel inferior when around them because of there expertise. It is important that you do not let this affect what your capabilities are.

There is no doubt that you are going to be nervous when you are going to be doing your final air test with the examiner the individual doing this test and marking you has the job of making sure that you know what your doing. They have a format that they must follow, and they can add to this as they see fit. Although they will basically follow the format that is set before them, there are a few tricks that they may decide to try on you to test your perception.

When you are flying it takes all of your attention nothing should be able to pull your attention away from your task. What the examiner might do is drop something on the floor. You will automatically go to pick it up. This means that your attention has been taken away from your flying. This alone could cost you your license. No matter what takes place be sure to keep your attention on what you are doing.

Make sure that you plan well ahead before you are ready to take your final test. You will have an instrument E6B that takes batteries. Make sure that they are in good shape before you are ready to take off if you don?t then you are going to end up relying on another equipment that you have not worked with for a long period of time. This is going to make your test all the more difficult. It could even break your confidence level where you start to make mistakes that you normally would not.

It can really become very frustrating when things start to go badly for you during your test you may find that some of your maneuvers are not correct, or you may have made some mistakes that are really stupid in the sense of you knowing what you are doing.

You can turn things around quickly though by again taking control of the situation. You need to stop and take a deep breath and remember that you are in control being the pilot. This means that your instructor that is being the examiner at this time is the passenger you are the one in control remember what the requirements are when it comes to your passenger and briefing them before your takeoff. Make sure that you do all of your pre checks before its time for your flight the bottom line is that you have to be calm and self assured that you know what you are doing.

By following these guidelines and knowing your learning material well you should have no difficulties in being successful.

Now you can learn to become a helicopter pilot with the #1 flight training course that rivals jeppesen private pilot courses.

What Certificate You Must Have For A Pilot License

Monday, March 29th, 2010

If you are deciding on the chance of becoming a pilot you will have to decide as to what kind of pilot you want to be. You may be very surprised to find that there are lots of choices available to you. You are going to have to base your decision on many factors. Probably, the best way to do this would be to decide what exactly it is you want to do with your pilot license.

No doubt you?re well aware that there are many rules and regulations that come with flying. Any individual that has become a pilot has had to meet all the rules of the federal aviation administration.

When you are first starting out you have to be able to get a certificate and what this certificate does is states what you are allowed and what you are not allowed to do. You are going to have to get used to the terms of ratings such as types and classes this refers to the type of airplane that you want to get your pilot license in.

The other thing that needs to decide is if you are trying to get your license because you want to find a job as a pilot, or whether you are doing it just enjoyment.

If you are after your license just for enjoyment then you are still going to have some choices you can go as a sport pilot or a recreational pilot or a private pilot. You will have to research all of these to find which suits you most.

If you?re maybe thinking that you want to get your license so you can find a job and earn a living as being a pilot. Then in this case you would need to be either a commercial or airline transport pilot. This would also include a flight instructor?s position as well. If you?re not to sure of just what you want to do you can start of with your sport pilot license this means that you will have to put in about 20 hours of flying time and do a written test.

There are lots of restrictions that come with this type of license, but at least it gives you a start to determine if you want to go further you will not be able to fly if the weather conditions aren?t perfect you can only to a certain altitude and you cannot fly in air traffic control areas.

if these restrictions are a bit to much for you then even consider going up to the recreational pilot level you will have a little more lee way here although again you will still have several restrictions its interesting to note though that if you want to make a choice of the type of planes you are going to be able to use you have more choices as a sport pilot. A recreational pilot will only be able to fly planes that have a specific amount of power, although this does include a single engine.

So you are going to have to make some decisions here as the whether you are going to become a license sport pilot or recreational pilot.

Read This Before You Attend Flight School

Saturday, March 27th, 2010

If you have signed up for a training course to become a pilot then you are probably already aware that there are going to be two parts of this course that you must complete successfully.

You are going to find that there is the part where you will only be able to fly with an instructor. Then once you have completed this part you will be able to go on to the part of the course where you can fly on your own. Naturally, it must be understood that you are not going to be able to be weak in any area of your training when you are going to fly solo.

When you are ready for this part of being able to fly on your own a lot of it will also depend on whether your instructor feels that you are ready to do so. Safety is very important and there is no way if you are not ready will you be aloud to go alone in the plane. Sometimes what some of the schools will do is still move the student on to learn other parts of the course that takes place after the solo.

This way all that is left to do will be the solo flight time. Usually where the weakness comes in is on the landing this is where most students feel insecure. What you might want to do is buy some extra flight time to give you extra practice in this area.

So when you look at the total aspects of your course you can now see that it is broken into two areas where there is the education part and then gaining experience. Of course the educational or the ground work is more important before you can take on the responsibility of flying the plane.

It will be natural for you at first to feel a bit nervous when you get into the plane and are ready to fly for the first time. Your instructor should have a good idea of how confident you are, and he will make his decisions based on this. Record keeping is going to be very important for you during your entire course.

You will have a log book for a student pilot and this is where you must keep track of everything that you have completed. Your training instructor will have to sign each one of the entry?s that are made in this book. If your log book is not up to date and complete, you will not be able to do your final exam.

Make sure that you don?t look for any short cuts when it comes time to learning everything that you are going to need to know for your course. Remember that in this particular type of training there is no room for mistakes.

By following the rules and staying focused you should find that you are able to achieve your goals quite easily.

A Close Look At The Pre Solo Training Costs For Pilots

Saturday, March 27th, 2010

If you have any interest at all in getting a private pilots license then you are really going to have to take a close look at all the costs that are going to be involved. You can start doing this by checking out the available schools within your area. You can ask them to give you an estimate of what your course would cost if you were to take it with them. You must not forget though that there are always going to be extra costs that will come up during your training.

There are many parts to this particular training course but there are two major parts that are going to have cost towards them. This will be the one part of your course, which is taken before you can fly the plane yourself. The second part will be when you are able to fly on your own.

You are going to have to reach certain levels within 15 different areas these are all covered by government rules when it comes to flying these are the FAA rules you also need to decide just what kind of time schedule you want to put into your training. Some people want to get through their course quickly and others prefer to take their time. This will be something that you will have to decide upon according to your personal needs.

If you are prepared to wait for becoming involved in your solo segment of your course then you can go ahead and do your cross country training. When you get to the point where you have about 25-30 hours of flying time then you really should be ready to consider your solo flying. It must be remembered that you must have your solo flying completed before you can do your final test.

You are going to find when you?re checking out the schools for your training that each of them has their own specific program. They still have to follow all the FAA criteria. The school is responsible to making sure that their students are able to progress to the point of graduating. The course programs may vary a little but they all have to reach the end goal. They may vary a little in their priorities.

You will find some variation in the costs as well but probably not that great of an amount. Remember that the cost is based on the hours of your actual training not on the hours that you are spending in the classroom itself.

Be sure and ask all the right questions when you are obtaining your quotes.

By shopping around and getting some quotes it will give you a clearer picture as to what you will have to plan towards. By looking at the quotes and adding some extra money to it for the unforeseen costs you will be a much better financial position and not have to worry about finances throughout your course.
